Upcoming Posts

Dress Forms from CorsetLacedMannequin

I've been sick.  A lot.  Trying to heal on the go isn't really working, so I'm going to give up some things on my To-Do-List, spend that time napping, and see if I can finally get well this week.  In the mean time my brain has been buzzing with ideas for upcoming outfits and posts, and before I make some tea and crawl under the blankets again, I wanted to take a few lines to share some of my ideas with you.
ThredUp really spoiled me with all those $20 Anthropologie dresses in December and January, so much so that I was pretty much shopping there exclusively.  But, the flood of designer dresses has slowly but surely dwindled down to the occasional drip.  I was on a winning streak getting all those styles I've been wanting for years, but just couldn't afford.  It's disappointing to see it come to an end, but I've decided to use this as an opportunity to branch out.  There are several stores I've been eager to try, but kept putting it off since I was spending my entire monthly clothes budget at ThredUp.  No more.
In the coming weeks, I'll be doing first time reviews of a number sites as well as reviewing the items I've purchased there.  I'm really excited to see what I can put together with these new pieces.  Of course, I'll still have a few ThredUp and thrift shop outfits too, because finding a great bargain is my primary goal, and I really do believe that looking great doesn't have to cost a fortune.  But, I also understand that it's frustrating if you see something on my blog, love it and want to buy one, but can't find it anywhere because it came from a secondhand shop.
I'm also hoping to start making my own dresses to add to the mix.  We recently took a trip to Nippori, Japan's fabric district and I found some gorgeous cotton prints.  I'm eager to get started, but I'm also a little terrified of ruining the fabric.  I'm waiting on my husband to give me guidance this first time around.  He's very accomplished with a sewing machine and even made his own tuxedo jacket for our wedding, so I have high hopes for his ability to instruct me.
So, lots of great things are on the way and I can hardly wait to share them all with you.  As the weather warms up, I'm hoping to start taking a few of my outfit photos outdoors.  There is no shortage of beautiful locations here and I'm determined to take advantage of them.  It may take me another week or two before I'm able to start writing daily posts again, so thank you for being patient and keep checking back with me.  I promise it will be worth the wait.
