Love Notes: ootd

This is probably the last chance we'll have to stroll along this lane of cherry blossoms.  The search for sakura continues, but the weather is going to turn rainy and already the blossoms are falling and making way for leaves.  Such is the way of the cherry blossom and its brief beauty is meant to remind us that life is short and we have to pause now and then to enjoy it.  That is exactly what we did this morning.  Under the trees by the water it was perfect.  It was just me and my girls and the lazy stream bubbling by.  The girls brought their dolls and played to their hearts' content.  I couldn't have asked for a lovelier morning.
It would have been a beautiful day no matter what I wore and those are the very best memories to make.  However, since this is a fashion blog, let's talk about what I wore.  For such a dreamy day, I needed just the right dress and I knew exactly which one it would be.  This is a new-to-me ThredUp purchase and I couldn't wait to wear it.  I made a little modification to my cardigan to get the look I wanted.  I've been drooling over ModCloth's Heart Cover Copy Cardi, but just haven't had the budget to buy it yet, so I made my own.  Just a few snips of the felt and a few stitches later and I have something that is totally great for today.  It won't last forever, and eventually I may go ahead and buy the real thing, but for now, I'm pretty pleased with my DIY efforts.  To complete the outfit, I wore my love note earrings from ModCloth.  Who says hearts and flowers are just for Valentine's day?  Love is for everyday.

  3. Thank you all! I always thought I couldn't wear red. I've only started trying in the last year or so, but I really like it, it brightens my day.
