As you may have noticed from my blog address, I currently live in Japan. And while this beautiful country is home to many unique places to visit, this spring it was my goal to visit the Ashikaga Flower Park with the family.
Located in Ashikaga city in the Tochigi Prefecture, it was quite a trek to reach it from our home. We left a couple of hours before dawn in order to be there just as they opened. And although hubby complained of a headache from the heavy perfume in the air, we were all a little awe struck standing under the umbrella like branches of a hundred year old tree in full bloom.
The park of course has different varieties of wisteria and other varieties of flowers at different times of year, plus special illuminated night viewings so that anytime you go there, there is something to see.
