About Me

Why a fashion-focused blog?  Well, I spent most of my young life struggling to find something, anything that fit.  My weight fluctuated a lot, but I was always very curvy and nothing seemed to work.  For a long time, I gave up and just wore t-shirts and mens jeans.

I studied design in Europe, England, and in America. It was my lifelong passion until I had my children.   All my priorities changed and I let go of some things that weren't important anymore.  The early years of motherhood were a blissful chaos, but as they grew and I realized I that I needed to be an example of confidence for them in how I dress.  I didn't want them to hate their bodies the way my mother hated hers and I, in turn, hated mine for so long.   And I didn't want them to feel that they had to conform to certain ideas of beauty and talent.

I felt like it was finally time to put some effort into learning to dress my shape and to pursue some interests and personal goals, so that one day I can help them navigate all the unflattering trends and the unattainable shapes out there to find joy with their own unique beauty and interests.

Being a stay-at-home mom makes me joyful.  I may not bounce out of bed everyday to sing with the birds and dance in a field about it, but my family is the most important thing to me and I consider myself very blessed to be able to be home with them.  As an added benefit I am now extremely busy in a positive way.  We're constantly on the go and usually on foot, so I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life (of course I also make exercise a priority).  We also deal with numerous food allergies which means I make all our meals from scratch.

As we travel through life and around the world, we are learning so much.  Life is an amazing experience and it is worth living it deliberately, even during the most painful and difficult of times.  In 2016 I experienced a very painful and serious trauma, which I still struggle with today.  For a while I lost all interest in life.  Fashion of course has not been a means of healing, but a sign that as my interest in it returned that I am making progress in healing.  I blog only rarely about the ugly side of life, which doesn't mean it isn't there.  It simply means that this is a place to keep things light.  My refuge from the heaviness of the other areas of my life, and I"m delighted to have you join me here.

I am so happy to have a way to share my interest in fashion, design, cooking and crafting.   I hope I'll inspire you with ideas for your own style and creations.

  1. Hi, I clicked on your blog link via the Modcloth photos you post up. They're very lovely, so much so I'm very curious about how and where you take your photos. There isn't much about it in your about me page-- maybe you could add a little snippet about it sometime?
