Sometimes things just aren't meant to be and it's no one's fault really, it just doesn't work out. I knew a woman once that I really liked and felt we could be great friends and allies since were about the same age, doing all the same things, and also shared a few struggles. She's nice; I'm nice. She home-schools; I home-school. She loves to talk; I hated to talk and preferred to listen. It should have been an instant and lasting friendship. But, for some reason, we never clicked. I still think she's great, I've just accepted that after a decade of swings and misses, we're never going to be anything more than cool acquaintances. It happens.
And, sometimes it goes that way with fashion too. I saw this outfit at Down East Basics and loved it, so I did something I rarely do which is to buy the whole outfit. It arrived. I loved everything until I tried it on. I still think it's a great outfit, I just think that these two pieces put together don't look nearly as cute on me as they do on the model. In fact, I think they're kind of frumpy. I'm keeping everything, because I still think these are beautiful pieces and I know I can make them work as separates, even though the outfit fell flat.
