Hollywood Glam

I love the old Hollywood Glam style.  It's gilded age of platinum blondes and long flowing gowns
made of silk  or satin.  But, as much as I love the style, it's one that doesn't really feature much in my wardrobe.  I haven't the right shape for long clingy dresses.  Of course once you make a rule, something will come along to be the exception.  Et Voila!  Today's dress becomes the exception to my rule.
One of the companies I work with sent me this gown and I was instantly reminded of Jean Harlow and Greta Garbo.  And, this smoky purple color is one of my favorites.  But, I did have to make some adjustments to the gown before wearing it.  I sewed two closures at each arm so that the sleeves weren't open all the way down and another closure at the neckline for the same purpose.  While I can honestly say that I'm not sure if this is meant to be a night gown, dressing gown or an evening gown, I can say that I love it either way.
