It's finally Autumn. It's finally time to start getting out the cardis and layering up. I'm home alone today with a beautiful storm rumbling out my window.It's a balancing act--being productive and yet restful on these rare and precious days. I used to relish my alone time, now it's a struggle. The quiet gives way to thoughts that go so deeply I fear I'll never find my way out.
Too often I find myself trying to fill my schedule to out run the negative feelings and bad memories. I could sew, I could read, I could scour every inch of my house until it sparkles for all of five minutes until the children come home. I could take a nap and dream of better days. Why choose one? I think I've got time to do them all.
