Trying Retro Stage

I've seen the ads for Retro-Stage, but there are so many Facebook ads that turn out to be scams that I tread lightly with anything I see on Facebook.  Typically I do a search with the name of the shop and "scam" to see if any reviews turn up.  Let me ask you something before I continue, what happened to blogger reviews?  A few years ago all I had to do was type in the name of a dress or skirt and the name of the shop and I could find at least one or two blogger reviews out there with photos.  Now there's nothing.  Is everyone making videos on Youtube and Tik Tok for reviews?  And if so, why can't I find anything except the really, really huge internet sensations like the strawberry dress?  I just want a real person to type up 100 words or so with some photos of the dress on a real body, but those days seem to be gone.  Anyway, moving on.  

So, I've seen a few lovely things on Retro Stage, but there are also some unhappy people out there.  In early January I decided to try just one thing.  That way if it never showed up it was no huge loss and if it did it could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.  I chose this Rainbow 1950s Stripe Pocket Swing Dress.

Weeks passed and nothing happened.  Finally I got a notice saying it was on backorder.  A couple of weeks after that I got another notice saying my item was simply out of stock.  I could get a refund or a store credit.  I looked, but nothing in the shop was in the price range of what I bought and by this point I didn't want to spend any more time or money.  I took my refund.  I kept checking back for several months, but nothing that really caught my eye released and this dress didn't restock.

So, I have to give Retro-Stage props for keeping me informed about the status of my order and promptly giving me a refund as soon as I decided that's the route I wanted to go.

Now, of course it's back and the question is, should I give it another go or just move on?
