Get Where You're Going

Out on my daily walk, I admit that in an increasingly chaotic schedule and life, these walks are becoming my only solace, so much so that I started taking two or three a day if possible just to keep myself sane.  But, I also noticed that my feet were hurting and even on days when I didn't walk at all, the pain was present.  It went on for weeks until I finally realized I need to toss out my old shoes and put on something a little kinder to my feet.
I have been the recipient of some tremendously wise advice in my life.  Mostly it came from older people, looking back on what they'd wished they'd known when they were my age and wanting to spare me their mistakes.  That seems like the most genuine kindness one person could pay another so I always listened and heeded their words.
One very good piece of advice that I have carried with me all these years was this: "Take care of your feet; you can't get anywhere without them.  Invest in good shoes and stay active."  This advice came from an elderly woman nearly crippled by poor choices.  I looked at her feet and decided she was right, feet are critical to mobility.  I know it's something that sounds self-evident, but how many people do you know who drive expensive cars and wear cheap shoes?  It happens; feet are easy to forget.
So, I looked for good shoes that provided comfort and support and what I found was that while I didn't mind paying a little more for quality shoes, they were all so ugly that I just couldn't bring myself to do it.  I don't just value comfort and support in my shoes, I also want them to be stylish.  I've found both in these adorable flats by Isotoner from Formathebrand.    So cute and so comfortable, this has been such a fun collaboration and I know these are going to bring a nice little dash of color to my fall and winter wardrobe.
I couldn't resist this little safety pin dress from the resale shop.  It is still new, soooo cheap (only $20), it's just my style and it goes perfectly with my shoes!
I may not use these cute little flats on my walks but they will go a long way towards saving my feet as they walk on concrete all day at work.  And I just invested in a nice pair of sneakers with great arch support for my evening walks.
Hopefully all this effort and care means that I'll be able to go where I want for as long as I want.
