Lucca Vudor: Comfort Shoes with Vintage Flare

Although I have been a lover of all things vintage for ever so long, I've recently been really leaning in on aspects besides just dresses.  To that end, I've been using an antique housekeeping book to help guide some of my daily routine, and I recently opted for a horse shoe hair cut and have begun learning to wet-set roll and style it like those glamorous ladies of a bygone era once did.

Monet More Ways

This little dress garnered so much attention the last time I wore it that I thought it was only fitting that I wear it again styled another way.  In my last post, which you can see here, I wore it with a hot pink cardi and flats.  But there are so many colors in this dress, I wanted to mix it up a little.

It never ceases to amaze me how colors shine.  You add a pink cardi and suddenly the pink in the print pops!  You add emerald heels from NEWBELLA and suddenly the greens spring to attention.

Throw in a hot pink petticoat and a blushing pink BOSTANTEN bag and everything comes together in the perfect composition.

Emerald Jewel with NEWBELLA

Black is a timeless classic, as we all know, but it's also the most neutral of colors which is why it has stood the test of time.  Since it is a neutral, the doors of possibility and creativity are wide open.  So, why not go bold.

Emerald green is a magnetic color; it draws the eye.  But, pair it with a patent suede bow heel and it totally captivates.  As soon as I saw these lovely little Stiletto Y2K & Date heels, which also come in orange, hot pink, apricot, and black, I knew it had to emerald.

NEWBELLA: Classic Style

I can't remember the exact time I discovered beige ballet flats but I have been a fan ever since.  There is something so polished about ballet flats and while black is the timeless classic, beige seems so much more refined and add the slightly square toes and little bows of these BASTO OL Slip-ons from NEWBELLA and the look is ever so refined. I was wearing these flats when I walked into my daughter's dance studio and the 20 year old teacher remarked to a colleague that, "See this," she waived her hand up and down over my appearance, "this is how I want to look when I get older."

I don't mind being called older, I am over twice her age after all, and if I have to be any kind of example to a younger generation, a fashion role model is an excellent choice.  Really, it was the sweetest sort of compliment to be a goal to which someone aspires.

I had a pair of beige flats years ago and I wore them completely out. Since then I haven't found anything I liked quite as well to replace them until now.  And these flats are so much prettier than the previous pair and I am so glad to have them in my life!  This collaboration with NEWBELLA has been fantastic!

My favorite way to wear these flats is with black trousers, chambray eyelet tunics, red dresses, and this little neon number that I have had the hardest time finding the right shoes for until now.  And now that I have these lovely and comfortable little flats, the possibilities are endless!

Spring Lilies with UIN Footwear

Spring is undoubtedly one of the lovelies and liveliest times of the year.  With everything spring to life, it's one of my greatest enjoyments to just grab a blanket, slip on some comfy shoes, curl up under the shade of a flowering tree, and watch and listen to it all the excitement.

Our little farm has its fair share of the excitement too.  We have chicks just hatched and everywhere I look there's a little baby bunny running around.  We are moving our garden plot this year so that we can have a larger harvest, and I am expanding my herb garden as well.  With so much to do, I know it seems like a less than ideal time to sit back and relax, but taking time to pause and enjoy these moments is what brings the greatest satisfaction to our hard work.
