Smitten Kitten

Purrmaid pin, Ceramic Chubby Cat, and Cute Cat Pin from Etsy.com

Eeesh, coming up with titles for my posts either happens instantly or is a real trial.  Today's was a trial.  Moving on.
Out and about on this beautiful day, enjoying the sunshine at one of the many parks in the area. Nature is donning all her bright colors, so I will do no less, and since I'm feeling playful, I'm wearing my kitten tights.

Boho Rose

Out for a stroll down the lane by the nectarine tree on this beautiful spring day, and not much to say about this outfit.  It's a combination of old and new to me with some of my hand made necklaces in the mix.  I love to layer them in twos or threes.

It's Spring; Think Pink!

Pink Rose Photo, Chanel Print, Tulips Print available on Etsy.com

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to think up a good title for a post and it shows.  This is one of those times.  Ahhh, but what's in a name as the Bard said.  So, weirdo title aside, I finally ran out of room on my memory card and went back through all the folders to delete old pics.  I stumbled across three or four outfits that I never got around to posting to the blog before we made the long journey back to the States.  And rather than wiping the memory card, I saved a few of them to post occasionally.  This pink dress seems spring appropriate, but it seemed a little boring on its own.  I layered it with a sheer Peter Pan blouse to give it some visual interest and then added black and gold accessories.  I'm much happier with it now.

Trollied Dolly: ModCloth BST

At the suggestion of one of my readers, I joined the Facebook group ModCloth BST.  As the name suggests, it's a group for those interested in buying, selling, or trading ModCloth dresses.  I've been on the site for a while now and as expected, I missed out on a lot of great dresses because I just didn't see them in time.  That's what happens when one can't be glued to a site that has such great deals: One misses out :).  I finally did get my chance to make a purchase though and I have nothing but positive things to say about it.
Everyone on this page has been very friendly and helpful, even warning members of the occasional scammer who tries to take advantage on the site.  No worries though, the other members and PayPal have your back.  So far, each of my orders has arrived within the week.  Obviously there is some risk involved, but I've noticed that group members really work to protect each other.
My first purchase was this Social Buttercup dress by Trollied Dolly. Cute and work appropriate, it was too warm for layers today, butI can't wait to wear it with my read cardi and some dark gray tights.  Since buying this first dress, I've purchases two more things and am very pleased with both.  So, a very special thanks to my readers for recommending this site.  I love it and would recommend it to all my fellow ModCloth fans out there.

Hello, Flamingo!

Flamingo Watercolor Set, Flamingo Balloons, Flamingo Ring at Etsy.com
We took a trip to the zoo over spring break.  I also took a girl's weekend trip with some friends to visit Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond's cafe and bakery, but sadly no pics of that.  As I've mentioned in past posts, I travel very light, usually without make-up or fancy clothes.  And for both of these spring break trips, we hit the road at the crack of dawn and I left sans make-up and in my most comfortable walking shoes.  But, my time at the zoo did inspire me a little.  I love flamingo prints and after seeing the most brilliantly orange flamingos ever, I decided it was time to pull out my flamingo sweater for a little tribute to this unique creature.
At this time of year it bounces between frosty mornings and afternoons so warm I'm left wondering why in the world I'm wearing all these layers.  And now, with a job added to the mix, more often than not I find myself shivering through the air conditioned days at work.  My solution is pretty simple: a skirt with sheer tights and a light sweater. This is my second purchase from LindyBopUSA.com because I am absolutely ga-ga over their novelty sweaters.  The ruffled neck and black bow are the little touches on their clothes that I love so much, but the nice part is that the ribbon comes out if you're not a bows-kind-of-girl.  Sometimes I'm all about that lace, and sometimes, the less frill the better...like when I travel.
While I may not have much in the way of outfit photos from the road, I do have plenty of photos from the road and an utter abundance of outfits, so why not team them up for my posts?  Get ready to see a lot of exotic animals and mid west landscapes added in to my upcoming posts :D
