Autumn in the City

    I've spent many seasons in many cities and with few exceptions, they've all been pleasant.  Paris in summer is a little rough, and Geneva in the dead of winter was equally challenging, but autumn anywhere has been a lovely place to be.  
    Not far from my hilltop country hideaway is a large town with a wonderful old downtown.  Built on a hill, and teaming with shops, restaurants, and beautiful buildings, it has a fusion feel of old Seattle feel and Bourbon Street, New Orleans.  But on days like this, when the sun is being shy and there's a heavy gray blanket over the sky, Seattle Wins.
