Tulip Street

I love old parks.  I have a blurry memory of this park from my childhood.  The year was 198? and my aunt was doing some scavenger hunt trying to win a car.  She felt like the clue on the radio meant that the key would be hidden under a rock in this park.  So we went and we all searched.
She didn't win, but I remember the green benches, the castle-like bridge over deep cool water and the bizarre ducks that I stayed away from rather than feeding precious life giving Wonder Bread to so that they could grow stronger and even more terrifying only to eventually hunt me down kill me in my sleep.....I want to say that it was all just my imagination getting away with me, but it wasn't.
That same family of ducks, several generations later no doubt, still lives here and they still look like the wicked cartoonish offspring of an an unholy union between Rob Zombie and Beatrix Potter.  In spite of these unfortunate creatures, it's still a beautiful park in the middle of a newly rejuvenated historic downtown and I hope to do many more posts from this spot....but no ducks.
