It was November, the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. ~ from Anne of Green Gables
If ever there were a time for floridly embellished descriptions of nature's beauty, surely it is November. Other times of year a field is just a field, but now when its golden waves are jeweled with dew, I have to pause a moment to soak it in.
While it's true that my feet might get a little wet, and I might be a little late in keeping my schedule today, this moment deserves nothing less than my full attention and I intend to give in to this beautiful sunrise in this beautiful field.
Before this dew turns to frost, before the gentle breeze turns brisk and chill and all the golden colors fade to gray, I need to breathe in the smells of autumn and rain on the way. I need to touch those tiny droplets glittering in the dawn and feel that rosy sun warming the air and the earth.
And so I will. Today. Tomorrow. For all the days that it lasts in November.
