Oh What a Day (Dress)!

Selkie did a Mini-drop of their Spring '22 collection on March 25th at 2p.m. PST.  Naturally I was perched on the edge of my chair, waiting, waiting, waiting to see what would be in the drop.  Originally I planned on and saved up for Four dresses from the Spring collection and padded my saving amount just in case inflation hit hard.  But, as the months dragged on and on I went back periodically to admire and dream, I sort of fell out of love with two of the dresses.  That seemed like a blessing in disguise, since I don't neeeeeeed more dresses and I would not mind at all saving the money.

So, the mini-drop arrived as I repeatedly refreshed my browser until the magic happened and to my disappointment, neither of the dresses that had survived my wish list whittling featured in the drop.  But, when I saw the Mucha Day dress, I felt that if I didn't get it, I'd regret it.  Since I had the extra savings, I quickly consulted the size chart since it has changed for the new collection, and decided to buy it.  I'm glad that I did because this dress sold out in all sizes within hour of the drop.

As far as Selkie goes, the Day Dress is not one of my favorite styles.  It's expensive for a cotton dress and I've seen it look fair on an equal number of people as I've seen it look poor.  But the print, oh, the print is where the magic happens for this dress.  This Mucha print is absolutely gorgeous and it doesn't seem to be as readable in the organza as it is in the cotton, also the colors seem a little more muted too.  Also, let's face it, as far as wear-ability goes, I'm far more likely to get use out of a cotton dress than I am one of the Selkie's over the top princessy/ruffley dresses even though I love them more.

Still no firm date/time for the Spring '22 release from Selkie, but with each passing day the anticipation is growing and to be honest, I was getting a little fatigued and starting to feel more than a little discouraged at ever getting the dresses I've been waiting and saving for for six months.  This dress has reenergized me for the wait, but hopefully it won't be too much longer.
