Just a little stroll through the maize. All the cornfields are ripe and ready for the mazes for Halloween and fall festivals that come along with October. Goodness, goodness, where has the year gone?
This year we'll all be doing our own thing for Halloween. My children have made their own plans and Mr. B and I have not had the time to make any plans at all. I don't have any costume ideas anyway.
Even though we very likely won't dress-up this year, I do still love all things related to the harvest, so when we spied this little cornfield next to a public walking trail, we decided to take a little detour. Don't worry, it's cool with the farmer.
Although it looks a little different when planted in rows of corn, you may remember this spot from my sunflower pics a few years ago. These lovely people plant this field every year and let people come in an pick pumpkins and sunflowers. It really is such a nice little community service, I so admire them for it.
And, believe it or not, even though it borders a walking trail, this little spot is always so quiet and peaceful that I love to come here and just wander through the rows, watching the colors change as the sun sets.
Fall truly is my favorite season of all and I am looking forward to all the colors, sights, and yes, even the flavors of this time of year.
