Ruche is Back!

Ruche announced that it was closing its virtual doors earlier this year, but through a happy twist of fate, they have managed to re-open.  Although I've noticed a shift away from ModCloth style dresses (save $15 on your first ModCloth order with this link -->  Save15)  to a more flowy boho style, they still have a lot of pretty things, some very nice perks and some great sales.  Like the engine from that beloved children's book, they're the little dress shop that could.  Good on ya, Ruche.  Read the full story here

Who says girly girls can't also be strong intelligent women?  There is a very popular style worn by business women here in Japan.  It is so common that it's quite like a uniform, and yet it is so much more feminine than the standard, drab business attire.  Working women here are not afraid to wear ruffles, lace, and big bows.  I love it.  I admire it, and this is my tribute to it.  I did these photos about two months ago, but since this outfit has a decidedly spring feel to it, I thought now would be the perfect time to post them.

Camilla Lace Skirt: Review

    Another great purchase from Ruche.  I don't wear skirts very often and I don't have an explanation as to why.  I suppose a skirt takes more thought than a dress because I have to choose a top to go with it.  I already had a second hand yellow and blue polka dot blouse, so when I saw this skirt I knew exactly how I'd wear it.  

    I know it's a bit early to say this, but this outfit is really feels like a back-to-school look.  Which is perfect, because although this skirt is too heavy for the humid summer days, it will be perfect in September and October.  All that's missing really is a (faux) leather satchel.
