They say everyone dislikes their birthstone and wishes they had something different. I can't imagine that that is true though. There must be plenty of people who are pleased as punch to have ruby, sapphire or emerald be their birthstone. Mine is peridot and in my opinion it has always been the homeliest of birthstones. Compared to all the other beautiful birthstones, peridot just seems like an oversight, an afterthought when there was nothing else left to pick from. But I suppose that's all in keeping with the month of August. There's something about August that makes it the forgotten month. There are no holidays then, Nothing really important has ever happened then that made it worthy of commemorating. It's too hot to go out and do much anyway, and school starts in mid August, so I guess it just gets lost in the hustle and bustle. So, for all my fellow August babies, this peridot outfit post is for you.
