The nuts are getting brown; The berry' cheek is plumper,The rose is out of town.
The maple wears a gayer scarf,The field a scarlet gown,Lest I should be old-fashionedI'll put a trinket on.
Thank you, Miss Dickenson. I like to read that poem every autumn as soon as the the leaves turn. When I was deciding how to spend my clothing budget for this first month of fall, this dress was at the top of the list and I'm so glad I bought it. It's unlined, so a slip and chemise are a must, but the colors are so vibrant. I intend to wear this to the first of the fall harvest festivals in the area starting next weekend. I have missed this folksy little slice of American Culture and I can't wait.
