Save Up A Little Summer

A very wise woman once said, if you have happiness now, you'd better save a little of it up, because hard times will come and you'll need that little dose of happiness to get you through.  Very wise.  Very true.  I wish I could remember who it was that said it.  In any case, I heard it when I was still a teenager and since I was about to head out into the world, I decided to take that advice to heart.
Happiness isn't the only thing you should set some in reserve if you can, I think that saying applies to the season as well.  If you're the type who loves winter--you know who you are, sickies--then maybe you need to take your vacation in the middle of that winter wonderland so you can really take the time to enjoy it before the sun comes out and melts it---and you.
I'm a summer person, always in love with the sunshine, and that's why I schedule my beach trips at the very end of summer, just so I can hold on to the heat and the heart of summer a little longer to carry me through the cold days ahead.
Part of holding on to summer is holding on to these sunflower pics and bringing them out in the coldest months of the year, just for a little shot of sunshine.  Not just for me, but for you as well, to remind you that it won't always be runny noses, hat hair, and bumpy layers of wool and corduroy.  The golden days will return again in due time.
Til then, here's a bouquet of sunflowers and memories of warm sunsets and gingham sundresses to tide you over.  And just so there's no confusion, my comment about winter people was a joke.  Like whatever you like, enjoy whatever you enjoy, and love being you with no judgement from me.
