On our annual getaway last year, I spotted this gorgeous true vintage dress in a thrift shop for a song and knew I wanted to bring it home and give it a little TLC and perhaps a second life. The bow collar and skirt accent on this dress are hand beaded and the material is a quality that the modern fashion world no longer produces. No remake will ever match true vintage style in my opinion. As close as many modern brands get to recreating vintage style, part of what made those bygone looks so lovely was not just the style, it was the foundation garments, the materials, the construction, the whole process from start to finish.
