Posts from the Fireside

Well, while I write this post from the fireside, buried under a blanket and checking the forecast hourly for any signs that the snow will end shortly, why not look back on slightly less cold days from a few weeks ago.
I thought I was freezing on this particular afternoon when it was 35F/1.6C.  It was cold, so cold in fact that we decided to pack up and go home after only two outfits because we were shivering and the sun was setting.  Now, at 8F/-13C this seems like a pleasantly mild spring day.  It's all about perspective.
With all my talk about the weather lately, I'm beginning to feel like a junior meteorologist or some kind of weather groupie, but rest assured, as soon as this dreadful storm finally passes, I will have other things to talk about again....mainly spring and how great it is not to be cold all the time.

Thrifty Business: ootd

You shouldn't have to break the bank to earn a buck.  Of course you should look your best at the office, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend a ton of money to do so.  Bargains abound at back-to-school time and by shopping the sales and the thrift store, I've put together a complete look for about $60.

Shop the Look:

Express cardigan from ThredUp $11.54
Ann Taylor Loft Blouse from ThredUp $4.53
Orchid Skirt from Uniqlo  $7.00
With Haute a Doubt Heels from ModCloth $30.99
Chunky Necklace from K-mart  $5
Total outfit cost:  $59.06
