Novelty Over Quantity

I'm a huge proponent of having a few quality items with one or two standout pieces in the mix versus having tons of cheap trashy clothes.  It truly is worth the time, initial effort and the extra money to buy quality pieces that you will wear while effortlessly looking your best for years to come.  It's best to choose basic colors like beige and black in timeless styles like a pencil skirt or a flared knee length number.  But for some people that can be just too dull--and that's perfectly ok.  If you a whimsical side, save a little room in your closet and your budget for a novelty print or an over the top color now and then.
I'm a cat person--the extremely sane kind--who loves a good novelty print, so I always have room for one more cat print, not actual cats.  I've hit maximum capacity on actual cats with 6, all of whom live outdoors except for the oldest in the bunch.  The winters are getting a little too hard for Dot, so she is allowed to come in and stay by the fire until bedtime.
Joining my novelty cat print is this ever so warm faux fur coat, just for a little extra meow fabulousness.
As described, here's one silly old cat with a box all to herself while all five (the pic gets a bit confusing with two gray cats stacked on each other, but there really are five) other cats huddle together to get out of the rain.  I think they like it better when she stays inside too.
