Old Vs. New

Today's outfit is entirely old stuff, there's nothing current market in this look.  Which is why it's the perfect segue to something I've been wanting to discuss for a while.  Quick question for my readers, and be honest: do you love it when I reuse older things to make new outfits, or do you find it frustrating because you can't just follow a link to buy something if you like it?
Personally, I'm torn on this issue.  I love seeing all the ways a person can wear something.  I like to know that if I'm going to spend the money on something it's going to be versatile, functional, fun, easy to be creative with, and all those good things.
But if I see something I love, I also want to be able to, ya know, just buy it.  I don't want to have to search for obscure things like a pink chiffon top from Forever 21 in spring of two years ago.  It's easy with big things, the internet sensations, the dress or top that we all just have to have, but it's almost impossible with basics.

But,  I also want to show the value of buying versatile pieces.  You don't have to buy every new thing and spend a fortune each season to "keep your look up to date" if you have classically chic pieces in your wardrobe.  Of course if you're still searching for those pieces, finding them is so much harder when the things you want are older.
You see what I mean?  I'm totally divided on the issue and I think the best thing is just to do some of both, but I'd also love to hear your thoughts below.
