The Selkie Compensation

Something very unexpected happened the other day and I wanted to share. Since I spend quite a bit of time critiquing companies and not always kindly, I thought I should take a moment to highlight the good side of things as well.

Back in April I went a little overboard with Selkie's Monet collection, (and yet somehow not as overboard as I would have liked!) and bought several pieces including this Angle Mini Bustle Dress for a whopping $500. So, the launch came and went and I didn't think any more about it until I received this email informing me that I had received a refund because Selkie had lowered the price of the dress and was refunding the difference (to the tune of $95) to everyone who paid full price.

Not even Monet could have accurately captured my shocked expression. Companies simply don't do this sort of thing, especially months after the release. What a lovely surprise! What a lovely gesture! That was a really classy move on Selkie's part and they deserve a little praise for it.
