I was scrolling through my winter posts and came across this vintage sweater in my 80s Comeback post. I wish I had learned to knit or crochet. I had visions of being able to present a unique pullover to each family member at our holiday gathering but try as I might to make my vision reality, no sweater ever materialized. In fact I never made it past a single crocheted chain. It just never made sense to my brain. I gave up on crochet and chose embroidery instead.
That felt intuitive and I was able to make my vision become reality in a very satisfying and non-stressful way. My daughters on the other hand have taken to crochet without any instruction and yet find embroidery beyond difficult. Our home has become a showcase for hats that look like cupcakes, scarves that look like mice or foxes, and doll dresses galore. I enjoy seeing all their creations and one day I hope they'll use their talents to make beautiful sweaters together to give to loved ones at holidays.
