Autumn is finally here and this one even managed to arrive a little bit early. I'm still desperately awaiting those gorgeous colors on my hilltop farm, but while I wait, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go out on this misty morning and take a few city pics. In the city, my favorite time of day is that golden hour or two when the sun is rising but the city is still sleeping. Everything looks different somehow. I love lighting on the empty streets and the old brick buildings and the twinkle of the stoplights and do't walk signs. I love the way I can carelessly wander and window shop. It isn't long before that single car creeps by foreshadowing the surge to come. Then it's two, then four, then ten. The sun is up and the streets are full, but that one hour at dawn was just for the city and me.
