I'd like to finish that line with, "put on a happy face," but sweet baby Moses, it's cold! I know blue skies are on the way, but i haven't seen the sun in about two weeks and it looks like it's going to be at least two more before I do. I put on my Rainy Days pinny with a blue skies top just for a little mental boost after all these weeks of cold and grey.
Six more weeks of winter indeed, this is the coldest it's been in years and it just keeps going. Ice, ice everywhere and it's only making me wish for spring that much more. There's so much I want to do and most of it involves being outside!
The older I get, the more retirement in Florida sounds like a great idea. No more ice storms and running late in the morning because I had to scrape and inch of ice off every inch of glass on my car with nothing but a plastic stick and two numb red blocks of ice for hands.
It would just be beaches, straw hats, sarongs, flipflops in every color, and drinks with so many flowers and umbrellas in them I couldn't even get it to my face.
Ok, ok I know it wouldn't all be sunshine in the sunshine state, but a girl can dream about blue skies and beaches on a winter's day can't she. Especially when it's more like a winter's month with no end in sight.
I took these photos last week, because, in spite of all my complaining, I do love the way the woods look all frosted in the morning sunlight. Each day since these photos, another layer of frost has bee added so the woods are really breathtaking right now, and not just because the subzero temperatures will suck the air right out of your lungs. No, truly, don't mind my fantasies of living elsewhere, this is the reprieve, the beauty in the difficulty that makes it all easier to endure and is the reason why I could never really leave.
