Well, well, the season of romance has arrived and I thought it might be time to roll out the Strawberry dress again. After all, this is the season of strawberries and chocolates and if you can't wear this dress now, when can you?
Ugh, look at all the gorgeousness of this dress! It's been just over two months since I bought this dress and it still makes my heart skip a beat just to look at it. Which I do, everyday, because it's hanging on the back of my door in plain sight.
What's Valentine's Day looking like for you this year? I don't have any particular V-Day plans at the moment, and I suspect nearly everyone is in the same boat with me, but it's still early and I'll find some way to celebrate.
I think you should, you know. You should celebrate. Don't let any holiday pass you by without marking the occasion. It doesn't have to be anything grand, although grand is sometimes called for, keep it simple if you must, but do make these days a time to keep.
And in between times find something worth celebrating. Finished a big project, kids got good grades, the dog is house trained? Celebrate. Do something special to mark the occasion. Don't get so caught up in you schedule, that you're too tired to appreciate life and don't get so busy just getting through and getting by that you wake up one day and it's all slipped away.
Pause. Observe. Appreciate. Celebrate.
That's part of what this dress means to me. Yes, it is extravagant. Yes, it is frivolous. It's also beautiful and when I see it, I stop and admire it and smile.
It shakes me out of my tiredness and my routine and immediately makes me want to go out and do something (while wearing this dress, of course). It reminds me that there's more to life than just the daily grind.
So, if you haven't made your Valentine's Day plans yet, do it. Plan something. Plan anything. And whatever you do, savor every single moment of it.
