After we moved back to the U.S. our family made a trip to the local blueberry farm every single summer. Yes, we had to get up early, and yes sometimes it was unbearably hot, even at 7:00 a.m. but it was also incredibly fun. It's one of those things I would have regretted not making time for with my children because not only are they too old to go now, (there's no age limit, they just rarely get up before noon and even more rarely want to be seen in public with me) but the blueberry farm closed its gates for good.
Apparently the farmer's children have also grown and flown and he couldn't handle all the work himself, so he decided to close up and enjoy some well deserved retirement years. As the blueberry season is nearly upon us, all those memories of all those delightful summer mornings come rushing back to me and I am glad we spent that time together while it lasted. So, in honor of the Blueberry Memories, I thought I'd share a few pics from all my favorite trips to the farm over the years.
