Sweet Dreams with Laloras Pajamas

Mother's day has come and gone, and while I love breakfast in bed as much as the next person, what I love even more is a good night's sleep.  I've long maintained that a comfortable and stylish pair od pajamas is a great gift and that's why I'm excited about this new collaboration with Laloras.com

With all the stressors of life, families to care for, jobs that follow us home, it can be tough to unwind and get quality sleep.  So, I thought we'd devote today's post to a few tips for getting the beauty sleep you deserve.

1. Eat Well and Exercise.  Some of us are more sensitive to sugar and caffeine and they can interfere with sleep, so it's best to avoid those foods at your evening meal.  Stick to the basics of protein, vegetables, and a small amount of carbohydrates and save dessert and coffee for a lunchtime treat.

2.  Comfortable Sleepwear.  What you wear to bed can affect how well you sleep.  Choose pajamas that fit well (i.e. that aren't so loose you're swimming in them all night, or so tight you can't breathe) and that are made of a comfortable fabric.  I'm wearing the Homeric Epic Washable Silk Pajama Set in Cupid Rose.

These dreamy pajamas are lightweight, soft and silky, and oh so comfortable.  The top buttons down the front, and the bottoms have an elastic waist.  Sometimes with sleepwear, I go one size up, but I ordered these in my usual size and I love the fit.  The right pajamas can make all the difference in how well you sleep and that makes all the difference in how you feel the next morning.
3.  De-stress Before Bed.  About an hour or so before it's time to go to bed, turn off all your stressors and distractions.  No more screens, don't even watch television, and no more work.  Anything that's left undone, just make a list for tomorrow and leave it outside your bedroom so you know you can tackle it first thing in the morning.  Create a quiet space in your bedroom or home with some low lighting, soft music, or just open a window and listen to the night sounds for a bit.  Do some stretching or breathing exercises and just relax.  Yes, it's ok to read a book, but keep it light.  Avoid authors and subjects that will really get your mind racing.

It may not sound like a lot, that's because it isn't.  But these little changes can make a big difference in getting the rest you need.  Give it a try and you'll see how much better you feel.
