Unique Vintage's Cyber Monday sale was incredible this year. I hope you nabbed a few goodies at bargain price, like I did! And I'm so glad to have a place like this to share all the great finds and wonderful sales that I see out there. Who do you talk to about the things you love? Of all the people I know, I am the only one that loves fashion as much as I do. I may be the only person in all my acquaintance now and for all time that gets excited about the new spring collection and meticulously follows designers and shops.
I know I'm not the only one or you wouldn't be here, and thank you for being here by the way, but I don't know anyone in my day to day, face to face life that likes to talk fashion as much as I do.
If you're a fellow fashionista then I hope you have family or friends who share your love of all things vintage and couture, but chances are you're like me and pretty much on your own. It gets a little lonely at times when you find a great bargain and no one gets what a triumph it is. Or when you find a gorgeous holiday dress and the best you get in response is a nonchalant, "that's nice." Where's the enthusiasm? I wouldn't even mind if they faked it now and then.
We are people who get excited about appearance in a blasé sweatpants kind of world, so what do we do? I wish I had an easy answer. I hoped that having two daughters would give me at least a 50/50 chance of having one of them share my interests, but neither of them do except to occasionally raid my closet.
They like to shop occasionally but rarely for dresses and never for anything vintage. They find all the options out there overwhelming and exhausting. I get it. I suppose that's probably for the best that they don't share my interest because if we all loved fashion as much as I do we'd be broke.
There's time though, for my girls. They're still developing their tastes and personalities after all. I haven't given up hope. In the mean time I thoroughly enjoy blogging about the latest styles and designer collections.
This little number is from Unique Vintage and was true to the shop's name, so unique and so reminiscent of those gorgeous vintage styles that I decided to splurge for it. And by splurge I mean that I saved up my money for several weeks and worked a couple of extra shifts to pay for it. Worth it!
It fits like a dream, looks great with or without a petticoat--I am wearing a black petticoat--and that sheer black carousel overlay over the champagne dress is so inspired. I have no idea where or when I'll get to wear this dress but I absolutely love it, and thank you for being here to share in my excitement.
