Some Bunny New on the Farm

“There is so much in the world for us all if we only have the eyes to see it, and the heart to love it, and the hand to gather it to ourselves--so much in men and women, so much in art and literature, so much everywhere in which to delight, and for which to be thankful.”~from Anne of the Island
First of all, his name is Fluffy and yes, he does know how adorable he is.  He is shy, but he likes a cuddle now and then and a good scratch between the shoulders.
The season of thankfulness is upon us, so I am thankful that he didn't mind coming with me on my outing today.  In fact, I think he enjoyed a little time in the grass and for my part, I was thankful for the company.  He's less boisterous than the dogs, less chatty than the cats that typically  join me whether or not they're invited.
I'm thankful for the breathing space this little hilltop farm affords us all and thankful we have so much space we're able to share it with these animals that bring such joy to our lives.
Today's outfit is one of my new autumn favorites.  Nothing in the outfit itself is new, rather it has been put together from some of my old reliable pieces, it combines some of my favorite fall colors in a warm, layered look.
The tan beret matched the tan skirt, and the rust top with its floral print brings a little visual interest.  Add the tween trench coat with the corset tie back which always gets compliments when I wear it, and some black tights and boots, and I'm all set for a walk in the chilly autumn air.  Of course, Fluffy always looks warm and stylish in his fur coat.

The Perfect Afternoon for Dreaming

"I should be reading, I suppose," she told herself for the tenth time that afternoon and tried once again to focus her mind on her books.
But within moments she caught herself simply scanning over the words without comprehending them at all.  She sighed, "it is reading of a sort, though I know I shall not remember a single letter of it tomorrow."
She laid her book aside and picking up her tea, she rose from her chair to pace among the delicate wild flowers hoping to relieve this restlessness.
After several moments, she settled into her seat at the table once more, this time with a new purpose in mind and one at which she was certain to be successful.
"Today must be the perfect day for dreaming.  Instead of spending all my afternoon fighting it, I shall commit myself to it instead.  I will imagine the most perfectly lovely things and I'll lose myself and find myself all at the same time."  And so she did, and quite expertly too.

Colorful Leather

Most of my blog posts are about the fun stuff that I like to wear in my free time or socially, but occasionally I like to do posts about creative wear-to-work outfits.  The concept of faux leather in bright colors doesn't exactly jump out at most of us as being something to wear to the office.  But, as with nearly everything in the fashion world, it's all in how you style it.
Choosing a tasteful floral top with just the hints of color and subtle ruffle detail at the shoulders gives this look a little seriousness and elegance.  As much as I wish I could take credit for this style, this was a little outfit that came together all on its own.  These to pieces were displayed next to each other in Shein's new spring items and they seemed the perfect mates, so I bought them both.
Now, if at this point, you're drooling over this outfit and want to wear it to your workplace, I have some bad news.  I bought both of these pieces so early in the spring and waited too long for the perfect backdrop to present itself before I took photos that they are now both sold out.  But, I do have good news.
I do want you to be able to try out something new like wearing colorful leather and I know the frustration of not being able to find those coveted wardrobe must-haves, and since I am nothing if not eager to help out my fellow fashion lovers, I have searched Shein and found a couple of replacement items that I hope will at least inspire you if not get you started on a new office look.
So, never one to leave my readers hanging, I have fully assembled a similar outfit with links below.  I recommend classic and understated jewelry like pearl earrings and perhaps a necklace or bangle, but keep it simple on the jewelry for work.  A cardigan or blazer would also look amazing with this outfit, and if the grass weren't so high you could also see my shoes for this outfit.  Just know that they were black patent leather peep toes and that I've found you something equally fab and posted it below.
