1940s Flare with Stop Staring!

Ahhhh, the 1940s, my second favorite fashion era, following closely behind the 1950s.  I used to absolutely ache for such fashion to be brought back because it seemed like no matter what her age, weight, or shape, every woman looked good in 40s fashion.
The fact that the world decided not to return to a more fashionable era and I got tired of waiting for everyone to come to their senses, was the reason the reason I learned to sew.  And of course, I still sew and am glad or the skills I've acquired, but if I had to choose, I'd much rather have a Stop Staring Dress.
Stop Staring truly gets it right when it comes to stunning vintage fashion.  I've been pining for this Bernice dress in Houndstooth for ages.  It just so happened that a special occasion was coming up and I decided this was the dress.
I so wish I'd bought this dress sooner, because I absolutely adore it!  The print and colors are just perfect for autumn and the cut is divine.
With the Railene dress, I typically order one size up because it is a wiggle dress and I just can't wiggle that much.  But, for the Bernice dress, and for every other S.S. dress I've bought, I would suggest ordering true to size.
I think I'm probably going to have to buy this dress in another color, because I just love it so much, I want to wear it all the time.
To style this dress, I decided to do my very easy wrap hairstyle and add a single victory roll at the side.  I'd love to be able to do two, but with my bangs and constant in ability to produce symmetrical hairstyles, I've learned to be content with just one nice victory roll.
I also added some faux leather gloves with adorable little bow accents and t-strap heels just to keep the suggestion of the era.  I didn't stress too much about keeping everything spot on for the 1940s, because I'm not cosplaying, I'm wearing a vintage style in a modern era, so it's ok not to make it all authentic.
I was fortunate to have the perfect overcast evening sky and the fall leaves were at the peak as I went out to do my outfit photos, so I was able to really take my time and get photos in three different locations.  They all turned out beautifully in my opinion, which isn't such a difficult task when I get to start out with such a gorgeous dress!
I'm hoping to be able to showcase another of these dresses in the new year, but it's all dependent on whether Santa gets my Christmas list.
