Wear Colors with Confidence

You'd probably never guess that I used to hate wearing colors, but it's true.  I went through a phase of wearing only black or khaki if I had to.  Though my reasons for doing so are varied (owing to teenage angst and the fear of getting any kind of attention)  and probably not worth discussing too much on the blog, I can safely say I'm glad those days are gone.
In my book Color = Confidence.  But it takes a little extra thought to work with colors and maybe that's why so many busy people just shy away from it.  Sticking with black, neutrals, and blue jeans is playing it safe (and boring!).  But it's easy to break out of that rut and it may not take as much time as you think.
The best way to start is with a single color, just the basics, not sea foam or lilac, just go for green or purple or some other color that sounds good to you.  Hold a few up next to yourself in the mirror one that you like and/or looks great on you.
Once you have a color you love, try adding it in to every outfit, make it your signature color, adding a splash of it to every outfit for a while, but don't stop there.
After you feel comfortable with that, look for another color that pairs nicely.  Change it up or mix and match and keep growing from there.  I suggest starting with blue and then adding in some yellow.
Of course, another easy alternative is to jump in with something super colorful like this Fairytales Midi Dress from Retrolicious.  It's easy to find something to go with this dress when there are so many colors to choose from.  Or keep it simple with black accents and you can't go wrong.
