Go Easy on You

What a week.  It felt like several weeks all collided into one last week.  Travel, home renovations, winter preparations, garden harvest, illness? or possibly exhaustion, etc, etc.  It was a lot!  Do you ever have weeks like this?  I'm sure you do, but what do you do to keep them from getting the best of you?
It's easy to get overwhelmed when we get hit with so many things at once.  Personally, I'm a big fan of simplifying--everything.  It keeps the chaos at bay.  For example.  Last week, I had a wedding to go to which was three hours away.  The following day we were prepping our home for fumigation and taking the kids to the grandparents' house so we could get away for some Us time.  So, I asked myself if there was anything in my schedule that could wait another week.
Turns out there were a couple of things I could move around, a hair cut, two visits to the gym and a few other things.  I don't normally recommend cutting out the gym, but the season change has left the whole family feeling a little under the weather, so we decided to stay home and rest in the evenings instead of heading to the gym.

My week was filled with easy, grab-n-go outfits like this one that look nice but didn't require much planning.  There were also a few freezer meals on the menu, and leftovers packed for lunches.  I missed my dresses and creative styles, but I'll be back to them next week.  And, sure mealtime wasn't as good as made from scratch, but it was sustenance and we won't eat this way forever.
Sometimes it's ok to take the pressure off, or at least as much pressure as you can.  It's ok to let a few things slide once in a while to keep yourself from becoming stretched too thin in too many different directions.  It's ok to cut yourself a break and cut a few corners now and then.
Don't let corner cutting become your habit, and don't let being overbooked become the norm.  Aim for balance in all things and strive to maintain a more relaxed way of life.  Your relationships will be healthier if you do and so will your overall mental and physical health.  No one is meant to handle several weeks at once.  Instead, just take a deep breath and take it one day at a time.
