Loungewear Must Have

FemmeLuxe week continues today with Loungewear sets! I am wearing this lovely Jade Green CropRibbed Two Piece Co-ord Set – Suzi from FemmeLuxe. I never owned loungewear before I started collaborating with FemmeLuxe and now I can't imagine my weekend with out it. Are you ready to relax? I am. The weekend is almost here and I cannot wait! Yes, I am counting the days and I'm not even sorry. What do you do when you want to unwind from the week or even just the day? Lately it seems like we've been on the go a lot.

With all the travel, work, and shuttling the kids to and from school, I treasure my weekends and I am committed to making them as breezy as possible. I try not to book too many things for our weekends so that we can spend them relaxing together. It's important not just for proper mental and physical health to give yourself that quiet time, it's critical to maintaining healthy relationships too. You have to carve out time in your schedule and everyone else's to connect with the people that you love.

When I was a new mother, countless white haired little old ladies would approach me, ask to see the baby, and after a long and tender gaze at my newborn, they turn to me, put a hand on my shoulder and with such deep sincerity say, “Enjoy this time; it goes by so fast.” It must have happened to me a dozen times if it happened once and I always thanked them. I knew they were right and it was good to have that reminder. When one person gives you a piece of advice you can take it with a grain of salt. When every single person who's been where you are gives you the same piece of advice, Listen up. Take it to heart because there is truth there. So, I did.

I savored every moment, even the really hard time awake all night with sick baby who wouldn't stop crying. I treasured them all and they have gone by so quickly. Now that my kids are in their high school years, it seems like we've hit the accelerator and although the days seem so long the years are short and I know that won't be but just a moment or two more and my sweet children will find the wind that fills their sails and go out into the world. That's as it should be, but knowing this makes me even more committed to making the most of the even less time we have together now that they're back in school.

So, the weekend has become this sacred time of rest, relaxation, and re-connection. I don't know about you, but it's far easier for me to relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon if I feel comfortable. By the way, if you're reading this right now and shooting a sideways glance at your baggy old sweatpants and stained t shirt with the neck cut out lying in a heap in the corner, the answer is yes, you should throw them away and upgrade to something far more lovely.

I chose the Jade GreenCrop Ribbed Two Piece Co-ord Set – Suzi for a couple of reasons. Firstly, because I wanted to try a new style of loungewear since I adore the other styles I have tried so far. Secondly, I love this jade color for autumn. Typically with fall we think of putting away everything green in favor of brown, orange, and red, but I think this shade of green is just perfect for the autumn palette. The Suzi set features a soft ribbed material, a high waist, relaxed fit in the legs, and a crop top with short sleeves.

I love coming out to my little quiet place here under the trees to take tea and do some reading, writing, or reflecting. Sometimes I just curl up under a blanket and listen to the wind rustling the leaves. I thought it might be nice to pull up a few more chairs and have the family join me too.
