Waiting (and waiting, and waiting) For Autumn

Here's this little spot that I do year after year and season after season, because it is so lovely and the lighting is incredible!  But I have to watch it carefully because the very first year I decided to take photos here, I saw it fully red and perfectly lovely on Saturday morning.  Sunday a storm rolled in, and by Monday morning when I came back for photos every single tree was bare.
I guess watching and waiting on places like this can get a little obsessive, but whatever, you have to have something to look forward to and occupy your mind with, right?  And the photos here are always so amazing I think it's worth all the watching and waiting.

I've been saving this dress from The Other Sparrows since early summer--three months at least!--just to photograph it here in all the fall colors.  Also a little over the top, but also totally worth it!
I do this sort of thing all the time.  I'm always thinking, planning, problem solving something.  It makes me feel stressed when I'm working things out, but I miss the challenge when it's over and have to find something else to do.
I used to think it was a bad thing, and maybe I was crazy.  Now I accept it as neither good nor bad, or perhaps more accurately it has the potential to be either good or bad--but it is simply who I am.
It's part of my particular personality type and like all other personality types, I have to keep things in check, which I've learned to do quite well over the years and I'm pleased to say I am still growing in this area and feeling more balanced every day.
More to come on this particular topic in future posts and at least two more lovely dresses from The Other Sparrows on the way too!
