Back in Style

It's been a tough year for the whole world, and I've held out and held up fairly well.  It's only been the last couple of months that I've felt like all the turmoil was really starting to get to me.  I had to step back for a moment or two, or a week or two and really look at what was going on internally.  Then I had to make some changes to get myself back on track.

I was worn down and getting really depressed and that depression made me fearful that it was only the beginning of a dangerous spiral.  Thankfully, being aware of my mood and behavior keeps me from getting too far off track.  I look for signs like withdrawing from family and friends, low energy, wearing my old sweatpants all day, those sorts of warning signs.
When I do see things starting to slip, I am able to stop the spiral and turn things around.  And I don't get to upset with myself for such setbacks.  I'm not dependent on my own strength to get through these things.  I'm not perfect and I don't have to be, I just have to be honest with myself first and then with others.
Now, that I am feeling more like my old self again, I am dressing like it too.  Back to being me and back in style again.  Today's dress makes my point perfectly!  Another gorgeous Gown Town Vintage dress; I wish I could dress this way everyday.  I absolutely feel like I have stepped out of the 1960s.
A little June Cleaver, a little Maureen O'Hara.  I have often said that a pretty dress isn't the cure for all things, but it certainly doesn't hurt, and a dress like this sets my heart aflutter and lifts my spirits.
GownTown Vintage has rapidly become one of my favorite collaboration partners.  Any company that consistently delivers on quality dresses that make me feel this resplendent can count on my business for many years to come. By the way, the lovely people at GownTown would like to extend a special offer to my readers.  Remember this dress post earlier this month from GownTown? Well, darlings, from 12/13 to 12/19  You can get 30% off this lovely Rockabilly Swing Dress with the promo code MissLeandra at checkout.
I really admire companies that can deliver a gorgeous style, solidly made of quality fabric and sat a very reasonable price.  This dress costs only $37, comes in five sizes and sixteen different colors!  Um, yeah, I may have to have more than one color in this dress.
I styled mine with a petticoat for a little extra skirt volume, but with or without the skirt you are going absolutely adore this dress and feel amazing in it.  By the way, those buttons down the front are real buttons, not just for show and they are the most lovely little faux pearls.  That's the kind of quality I'm talking about with GownTown!

I have a couple more glorious gowns on the way from GownTown Vintage including one style just for you fashionistas of more modern tastes and you do not want to miss them.
