There is something about this season, just when the world mutes all the sights and sounds that makes us crave color and this warmest shade of red in particular is what we fancy this time of year.
I've talked many times about the psychological affect color has on our brain chemistry and our emotional moods, so I don't think I will go into it again today. I don't think I need to; this is something we know without knowing we know it, ya know.
We see red everywhere in our holiday decorations, wardrobes, even in the occasional cardinal-in-the-snow photo that everyone has to take each winter. To put it simply, in a cold world, this color warms our hearts and brings us hope.
So, no matter what your skin tone or size or any other reason you've given yourself for avoiding this hue, make room in your wardrobe for red, if only for the winter.
