Nautical Notions

It's a well recognized part of every heroic saga: the hero goes on a quest but stops along the way for little side adventures.  So it is with fashion quests and all the heroic fashionistas who undertake them.
My search for all things Atomic Space Cadet print from Steady Clothing, I came across this lovely nautical print dress and thought we'd take a little side adventure away from the depths of space and into the depths of the sea.
From Robinson Crusoe & Moll Flanders, to far away Treasure Island, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, I have always loved sea adventure stories of any sort.  I suppose The Little Mermaid falls under that category as well, and I was obsessed with it for much of my childhood.

I have visited the ocean many times over since my childhood in a landlocked state with a family who rarely took vacations and never out-of-state.  I don't think I'd like to explore the sea anymore.  I'm content to just stand on the shore and admire.
I suppose that's all a part of maturity and experience to know when to go out and explore and when to stand and admire and at some point between loving the sea and actually visiting the ocean I realized that the sea is a pretty terrifying place.
That's not to say I'm done with life and resigned to the sidelines.  Far from it.  I overcame that fear long enough to go snorkeling in the Caribbean and when I saw half of a fish frantically swimming away from the direction I was heading, I turned around, swam back to shore and spent the rest of my trip enjoying cocktails on the beach.
I have plenty of other adventures that don't involve me at the mercy of the deep terrors lurking in the sea, like finding pretty dresses with nautical prints.
