Sunflower Sunset

It's the unpredictability of nature's beauty that makes it so special, I think.  Last year the sunflowers abounded for a full month at least.  This year, it was a mere two weeks in this tiny corner of a field.  Such is the way of things.
I had my plans of course, and I thought I had plenty of time to carry them out, but this little voice whispered to me that I should make time for the sunshine and the sunflowers because they might not last long.  So, one evening I put everything else aside and stopped by this field for a few photos.  The next week they were gone.

The language of flowers is one of pure and quiet truth.  You have to be still, be silent and listen closely to learn much.  And the lesson is just this:  Make time to enjoy; nothing lasts.
Is there something you have been putting off?  Is there some small whisper at the back of your thoughts telling you not to delay any longer?
Is there a friend you've been meaning to call for ages?  Is there a task you've been meaning to accomplish?  Do you always intend to stop take a half day off so you can pick the kids up from school early and have a picnic in the park?
Don't wait for some distant day.  Don't put off those things any longer.  No one and no thing are guaranteed a tomorrow.  All we have is today.
Make the call.  Spend the time.  Seize this moment in the sunshine while it is still called today.
