Mimosas

This has been the year for mimosa trees.  I've never seen so many full pink blossoms and it just wouldn't be summer without them.  Every year, I look them to bloom in this quiet shady field, and I love nothing more than to walk out here in the heat of the day and spend a few hours reclining beneath this tree, listening to the birds and the gentle breeze rustling the long golden grasses.
On days like this I might bring a book, but I usually don't.  It's better to let my mind rest from distraction so it can wander and dream here under the trees.  What do you think about in your distraction free moments?  I try to think about nothing in particular, to gift myself with a time of no pressure and no worries.
School is starting soon, and all my work busyness will be starting again too.  Sometimes you have to take the restfulness where you can find it.  Right now I have it in abundance; in a few days I will have a serious deficiency.  That's why I am making a point to be out here as much as possible.
