Emily in Coral

Today is the last day of FemmeLuxe Week for this month. I am sad to see it end so soon, but I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. I think it has been rather smashing this time around. I always think my FemmeLuxe week posts are great, but this month has been exceptionally good in my humble opinion. We've really covered so many different types of outfits in our August FemmeLuxe week. From loungewear to corset tops and dresses of course, we have seen some really great looks for all tastes.  

 I love FemmeLuxe's T-Shirts, Joggers, and Loungewear and maybe next month I'll showcase a few of those comfy clothes, but for today I thought it would be a fun way to end the week with one of FemmeLuxe's lovely dresses. I do tend to gravitate toward their dresses as you know if you are a regular reader. Today's post in particular is something pink and shimmery, mermaid-esque if you will.

Over the next few months as things continue to reopen and restrictions ease up a bit there will of course be places to go and celebrations to attend. I have already received several invitations to special events and that means it is time to start looking for a few dresses for indoor and outdoor venues. For indoor I tend to go for a little length in the sleeves and skirt so the air conditioning doesn't have me shivering the whole time, but it just so happens I have an outdoor reception to attend and a mini dress has been on my mind.

I have had my eye on this little Coral Metallic Puff Sleeve Twist FrontMini Dress—Emily for several months now. The Emily dress also comes in black and emerald (<---- Even more mermaid-esque! And I considered it for a Disneybounding post of Ariel...hmmmm...that may be a future post!) but the coral color was calling my name. It is summer after all, the season of bright colors and the short hemlines of mini dresses. I have seen this fabric in another style of dress as well and I have been admiring this fabric for some time. I like the shimmer and it has a fair amount of stretch to it, but the Emily dress also has a zipper down the back, so you don't have to wiggle into it.

In addition to the zipper back and the great color and shimmer this Emily dress has some seriously cute features like the puff sleeves with the elastic gathering around the shoulders at the arms for those extra frills and ruffles. It also has the flattering twist front. I ordered my this dress in size 8UK equivalent to a size 4US which is one size up from my usual on FemmeLuxe. You don't necessarily need to size up I chose to just for that little extra breathing room that I need. If you prefect a closer fit than I do recommend ordering true to your size. It all depends on the kind of fit you want.

The Emily dress is a pretty stand out piece and I did not feel that it needed tons of showy jewelry or accessories. It's eye catching all on its own. To that end I accessorized quite simply for this outfit by wearing my dear freshwater pearls necklace and earrings. I suppose that may seem a little mermaid like as well, but really I just wear them with practically everything because I think they always look great. And I chose black ankle strap heels, but I think something in white or perhaps another pastel would also look perfect.
