Loungewear At Last

I like people who are different—whether that means different from most of the people I have met or if it just means different from me. Friendships are forged on common ground but I also enjoy the conversations that arise when I meet someone that has tastes and interests and experiences that are different from my own.  

If I had not met people different from me, I would not have tried nearly so many things and, I should add, I would not have ended up liking so many different things because I never would have thought to try them without the influence of people with unique perspectives and experiences. 

It is long, long overdue, but better late than never as the saying goes. I have been promising a post featuring some of FemmeLuxe's Joggers, T-Shirts, and Loungewear for months now and it is finally time. Today I'm wearing the Rust Ribbed Picket Detail Loungewear Set—Laura as promised in a lovely shade of autumn. The mornings this week have been so cool and mild that I've taken to wearing longsleeves and chunky cable cardigans to stave off the chilly air.

And I have been having a little time of pleasure reading in the afternoon shade. Just me in my loungewear with a cozy quilt or curled up in a reclined chair and occasionally a kitty or two will come by to receive some distracted half-hearted pets. I don't mean to neglect them, but when the story gets to a really interesting part, I'm afraid I just can't pull my attention away even for kitty time.

I first tried FemmeLuxe's loungewear last autumn and I've been hooked ever since. I struggle with insomnia and I'm just generally a very light sleeper. I read a study conducted in the Netherlands years ago which came to the conclusion that most sleep disturbance is caused by getting tangled up in loose fitting clothes. The study recommended sleeping in the nude for a deeper and and more restful night to avoid all the tossing and untangling that comes with baggy pajamas. Now, if you have young children who constantly burst into your room in the middle of the night, you may already see the problem with this conclusion.  

Not to worry, the study also found that sleeping in form fitting pajamas was the next best thing. At the time of the study, I thought that sounded awful. Wearing pajamas that were at least a size or two too big had been my go to for years. Baggy sweats were the epitome of comfort to me at that time and I couldn't imagine changing. From the very first loungewear set, I was hooked. The fit was snug but comfortable, like a second skin. I stayed warm on chilly nights, and I slept so well that now I can't sleep in anything else.
