Navy Blues

There once was a sailor who stole my heart and broke it into a million pieces, but he sure did look handsome in his dress blues.

I can't say my broken heart ever fully mended, but that's ok.  I find that having a heart in so many pieces means it's that much easier to give away.

No one ever wants to go through hard times, but you are not helpless. You may not choose the things that happen to you, but you can choose how you respond to them.

You are more than just the sum of your hurts and so am I.  Turn the table on your hardships, your trauma, and heartbreak. Choose to use what was meant for your destruction to grow kinder, wiser, and stronger and more giving of yourself than you ever imagined.

What do you say, is that enough of that for today?  Shall we put away the tough talk and chat for a little while about fashion in this post?  I think so too.

Every now and then I like to pose a little challenge for myself just to keep me on my toes. This month I'm doing a whole series on outfits of just three colors: Navy blue, Ivory, and Fuchsia.  I'll post one outfit in the series each week, so be sure to check back with me at least weekly if not more often ;D

Today's outfit has a decidedly nautical theme thanks to the sailor style top and pearls hence the nautical title and the reminiscing, and I've thrown in a little vintage flare with the full skirt, beehive hair, and ice cream float novelty bag.
